Bio

Nadia Jade (she/her) is a multipotentialite storyteller, strategist, and arts advocate with an unerring sense of the zeitgeist.

As Marketing Manager for Brisbane Festival, she delivers bold, audience-driven campaigns that connect people with extraordinary cultural experiences. With a career spanning theatre, festivals, and digital strategy across Brisbane, Melbourne, and Glasgow, she has shaped the creative industries from the ground up.

Nadia’s expertise in social media marketing, community engagement, and strategic communications is backed by 15+ years in the industry, including consulting for arts and hospitality brands. Her first forays into marketing were as an independent artist, giving her an innate understanding of promoting indie events with limited resources and maximum impact.

Beyond the desk, Nadia is a circus and sideshow artist, performing under her stage name Nadia Jade Sugar and producing work through her independent company Moment of Inertia Productions. She is also Editor-in-Chief of Nothing Ever Happens in Brisbane, an indie arts media project dedicated to amplifying Queensland’s independent arts scene and revitalizing arts criticism in Australia. She has personally published over 100 pieces of arts criticism, plus numerous interviews and feature articles.

A former indie music booking agent, venue manager, and radio DJ, Nadia has spent her career immersed in underground and alternative arts. She has produced and marketed circus tours across three continents, championed feminist storytelling with WOW Australia, and developed strategic marketing campaigns for major festivals.

Nadia is a 2017 University of Queensland alumna, with a background in Political Science, Indigenous Studies, and Public Relations. In 2021, she published her first chapbook of poetry, Lovers, Sagas, Liaisons and Affairs.

She is a cultural connector, a fearless creative, and a marketing mind that thrives at the intersection of strategy and storytelling.
